Going all Joan Rivers on the Vmas

So its safe to say that one of the highlights of my year is the VMAs. I love them like its like Christmas for me. Ive watched them about 4 times already I just love them. Its Music and awards and fashion all in one! What I love about the VMAs is that anything can happen at them and you can literally wear whatever you like. So I've gotten my Joan Rivers on and found my three favourites and my three not so much.

My 5 best dressed.

Selena Gomez

I am absolutely obsessed with this dress. Definitely my favourite dress from the night. It was perfect for her age, it has just the right amount of flirtatiousness and playfulness and lets face it 'ya totes would' she looks amazeballs. The navy blue is the perfect colour for this dress and the flap is perfect. I could go on all day about this dress I really want it! And one day when I can afford to buy Versace this will definitely be on my list.The styling is perfect for age and all in all she just got it right! 

Macklemore    

Its not often that I'd even look at a mans suit on the Red Carpet. They normally some shade of black and if they're adventurous they may wear a shade of navy, this is why I absolutely love this suit. In fairness the mint green pastel suit is very cool and perfect for the VMAs. The tie and shirt are all in keeping with the suit. I just think it is really cool. I even like the fur scarf and that is strange for me. Snaps to Macklemore for making an effort! 

Naya Rivera

Lets face it she looks hot. Like I can talk crap for a few lines but in the end it all comes down it all comes down to the fact that she looks hot.















My worst dressed.

Ok I should like this but it looks like she killed big bird and attracted it to her skirt. The top is perfect but I'm afraid it is all down hill from there. She looks like shes trying to hard. Its the VMAs not the MET ball. I just hate the colour and everything. If it was black it might of saved this but at the moment she looks like a reject from Sesame street.





Lil Kim

 Lil kim needs a new stylist she literally never gets it right. Like what even is this? The shoes, the thong on the outside and just the whole thing. She looks like cat womans reject sister. It feels mean to even say why its bad. Its just bad. And this is a good picture of this outfit!

A Little Short Rant

Recently we had the misfortune of having our car rote off the road which means we needed to get a replacement car for the mean time. Should have been an easy task right? We had a replacement car got and it was all fine till it was my turn to drive and we discovered my legs were actually too short to reach the pedals! We had to get a new replacement car as a result! The joys of being short! This got me thinking of the issues being short has caused me when it comes to clothes.

Patterns

Patterned clothes are all in at the moment. Especially in dresses. Now I have to pick the patterns I wear very carefully, If I get It wrong the clothes will wear me and I look like a little girl. I try my best to wear plain colours dresses but I found the best way to get around this pattern problems is to wear pattern pants! and believe me I have a few pairs! The patterns on the pants make my legs appear long and when worn with a plain top it gives the appearance of length. I recently bought a pair of printed pants in River Island that I had my eye on, I love them and they act make my legs look long! Yay.

These are my new pants and yes they are loud and yes they are prob not everyone taste. Buts its love ! The pattern is so busy it keeps the eye distracted from the the length of the leg. I wore it with a pale lilac top so as to open up the outfit and give the eyes a break from the wild pattern. The trousers come with a matching top which i deliberately avoided like the plague. Its tasteful but it would have eaten me alive. Patterned tops don't suit me as they are too busy.

Jeans

I had the most upsetting moment today. I finally had my money all ready to buy my Mom jeans from topshop, I decided to be smart and try them on first, and thats where my world came tumbling down. The trousers literally cut me in half. They were the same length as my body and stopped just below my boobs. I looked like an elf in giants clothes. It was at that moment that I decided to suspend my Mom jean dream(until they come out in the petite range). I'm going to have to stick to my good old reliable skinny jeans. Watch this space I will own Mom jeans. Some day, but till then Im just going to be mom jeanless and short. What is life!

Shorts

I love shorts. I'm big on shorts! (LOL). Almost all my shorts are patterned shorts. Plain shorts don't really do it for me. Plain shorts are all very well for girls with long endless legs, the shorts show off their legs by not distracting from them. White is a big trend at the moment and there are white shorts everywhere but I'm avoiding them as best I can. If I wore white shorts I just look like a baby in pampers and it is not a good look from me and its not just white any plain colour shorts make me look like a baby with a wide range of coloured pampers. So to avoid this I wear patterned or demim shorts the pattern draws the eyes attention and keeps it away from my stumps!




Of course the best goods come in small parcels (then again so does poison) and being small has its perks! SHOES! I'm a complete sucker for shoes. The higher the heel the better for me and I have (almost) mastered the act of not falling over! YAY. I'm a big fan of New Look shoes. I find their shoes comfy and easy to walk in. I bought a pair recently, they are tan and black with a chunky heel and a double strap. They're a mix of a number of different styles that are out at the moment. The colours are so easy to wear with a number of different colours. Shoes are an investment not a purchase. And when they add height they are the best investment ever!.


My short rant is over now. I've learned to adjust to my littleness. Its obvious that the world just isn't ready for anymore of me!

Chain Reaction

So today I found a pile of earrings I had from my first year in secondary school, you name it I had it in earring form! Monkeys, shoes, cake, buttons you name it I had it! And at the time I wasn't out of place, Weird earrings were somewhat in style with girls my age anyway and this got me thinking of how much jewellery has changed from year to year. Long gone are the days of jewellery just being the simple necklace, ring, bracelet and earrings . Last year saw everyone wearing hand and ring chains, and ear cuffs , combining the classics has become very popular. Rihanna has recently been seen rocking the body chain on a number of occasions and as usual what Rihanna does the rest of us eventually follow, and its not just Rihanna, Beyonce, Emma Roberts and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley have also rocked the trend. And now thanks to our trusty high street stores so can we.

 




And yes I know in most of those pictures the chains are worn with bikinis or crop tops and that as we are in Autumn it is not the ideal way to wear the chains but as you can see from the picture of Emma Roberts it is possible to wear them with clothes. They are the perfect decoration for a simple plain top or dress. They are available in almost every highstreet and online store.River Island, New Look , Asos, Misguided to name a few.

One of the biggest decision in life a girl will ever have to make is 'To bra or not to bra?!'. Ok so that may have been a little exaggeration. But it is become an increasingly popular question given the latest style of tops that are popular at the moment- Backless, Frontless ,Strapless ,Topless! You name it they're out there. And yes I know that there are all sorts of uncomfortable alternatives to going bra less but they are expensive and unreliable. The stick on bras only work for a certain amount of wears before the stickiness fades and they peel off and when you're out that is an awkward situation. So why not to just go a head and give going commando ago?

It is widely known that Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston) rarely wore a bra in friends. She is the queen off the no bra which from here on out will be known as 'The Rachel' in her honor.

Seeing as the 90s have a strong influence in the trends in style today it is only a matter of time before the nipple makes a come back. And no I'm not on about nip slips. I'm talking about the look Jennifer Aniston is rocking above in the white top. Of course not everyone will be comfort able going completely cold turkey breast (sorry couldn't resist) and that includes me, thankfully there are subtle little helpers. There's the cheap alternative of just putting nude  plasters over nipples can prevent nip slips or you can splash out on cute adhesive nipple covers shaped like flowers they retail at about €3 and are very cute but lets face the facts. Plasters are cheaper , hopefully no one will see them so it doesn't matter what they look like.

Double sided boob tape is also a handy tool. It secures the top and the breast to prevent any accidents or an over dose of side boob. At the end of the day it all comes down to personal preference but choosing not to try 'The Rachel' may making wearing certain tops and dresses difficult.

Cami tops are very popular at the moment and are perfect for casual nights out. Cami tops are normally made out of Polyester or Cotton which are quite clingy materials meaning if worn with a bra it would be very obvious and take away from the overall look also camis traditionally have a stringy strape which is a nice feature of the top and if a bra is worn the strap of the bra takes away from this detail, however as Cami's are loose fitting they are perfect to attempt 'The Rachel' with the help of double sided proof its a match made in heaven.
